Agua Fria High School is a Highly Performing school which serves a student population of over 1,700.  AFHS has undergone continuous expansion and modernization since it opened in the fall of 1955, though it maintains its rich heritage and tradition.

Agua Fria High School is a comprehensive high school with full academic, fine arts, and athletic programs. AFHS has Career and Technical Education programs that include Career Discovery, Allied Health Services, Computer Technology, Law and Public Safety, Construction, and an Air Force Junior ROTC program.


Important Dates for Second Semester:
February 9 - Progress report distribution, 2nd block
February 10 - No Late Start/Early Release day. Classes from 7:30 to 11:45 a.m.
February 12 - Josten's class ring presentation to Juniors
February 15 - No school; President's Day
February 18 - Josten's Family Order Night, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
February 23 - AIMS Writing testing
February 24 - AIMS Reading testing; No Late Start
March 15 through 19 - No school; Spring Break
April 7 - AIMS Math test; No Late Start/Early Release day. Classes from 7:30 to 11:45 a.m. Only students taking AIMS test on campus.
April 8 - AIMS Science test
April 16 - No school; April Break
May 17 - Graduation
May 20 - Last day of school

AIMS TUTORING

In addition to the current after-school tutoring program, AIMS tutoring is being offered.  Students can receive assistance in Reading, Writing, and/or Math. 

Please see the attached letter for more information.

After-School Tutoring

Tutoring will be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. 
A late bus will be available for students staying after school for academic purposes.

CONGRATULATIONS TO....

Jocelyn Baca is one of 104 seniors nationally recognized as a Horatio Alger National Scholar. She will attend the 2010 Horatio Alger National Scholars Conference in Washington, D.C. and has been awarded $20,000 to attend college.

Oneyda Valenzuela is the winner of The Art Institute of Phoenix's Passion for Fashion Competition.  She will receive $3,000 for winning the local competition, and an additional $25,000 for winning the national competition.
